Hello High Plains Community School students, staff, parents and patrons. I am Stan Hendricks and I am honored to have been selected as the superintendent-elect of High Plains Community School beginning this July.
As I started the process of interviewing for the superintendency of High Plains Community, I contacted several people I knew from neighboring school districts and communities. I have always found it quite intriguing to get a perspective from neighboring "outsiders". Without fail everyone spoke of High Plains Community as being a strong school district with excellent teachers and students. They spoke of people committed to the education and success of their youth. I heard of the strong communities of Hordville, Polk and Clarks and the sense of pride displayed in your communities and school. I count myself incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity to serve this school district.
My background includes 25 years in public and post-secondary school education in Nebraska. Over that time I have taught at Centura, Bradshaw, Palmyra, Arlington and Louisville; and have served as an administrator at Newcastle, Louisville, Syracuse and Nebraska College of Business in Omaha. I've gained many rich experiences throughout my career, and I hope to add the knowledge from these experiences to the successes of High Plains Community.
I will be coming to our new communities with my wife Julie and daughter Frankie, 7, and son Griffin, 5. Frankie is currently in 2nd grade and Griffin is in kindergarten. They are typical kids. Frankie's biggest concern was the quality of the playground equipment and Griffin said he's "just happy to be here". My family is really looking forward to joining you and your families at High Plains Community. Go Storm!
